What is the

Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code”, to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Workshops are set up all over the world, centered around short tutorials to teach the basics of coding. Anyone, anywhere can participate in an Hour of Code event – no experience needed.

This will be our 5th year hosting an Hour of Code in Walden, NY.

Every year, during Computer Science Education week, which falls on the first week of December, we host a public event which is aimed at encouraging students to learn about the power of coding.

This year, Small Biz Up and The Josephine Louise Public Library are again Co-Hosting a Free Hour of Code event in Walden, NY.

Whether or not your child aspires to be a Computer Scientist in the future is not important. Computer science concepts also help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills to prepare students for any future career. They will learn patience, logic and communication skills just by participating in this event.

The event is totally free and all ages are welcome.

Bring your devices and connect to our network, or play one of our off-line games.

Many prizes, including an Amazon Fire Tablet and Amazon Fire TVstick will be raffled off.
